Abstract :
A model of one or more electron bunches passing through a partial filled dielectric rectangular waveguide is introduced. Analysis results show that with the help of appropriate parameters chosen for the waveguide, the frequencies of the coherent wakefield pulses generated by Cherenkov radiation with TM mode in dielectric could be located in terahertz band. These pulses following the electron bunches are emitted at high power. The 2-D problem of this model was theoretically analyzed and the waveguide was also simulated through FDTD-PIC method.
