Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a GSP application program to enhance the geometric creativity for the 5th graders in southern Taiwan. The GSP intervention program was integrated into computer class for six weeks. Among the 328 participants, 30 of them are gifted students. Hierarchical linear model (HLM) was used to analyze students´ scores of geometric designs across six weeks. The results suggest that students´ geometric reasoning ability was significantly enhanced by the GSP intervention. The participants showed substantial growth on their geometric design performances. The initial difference between the gifted students and the other participants is not significant. The growth slope of the gifted group is significantly higher than the others. The variance of growth slopes accounted by group is around 6%. The effect of the GSP application for the gifted students´ geometric creativity development is especially promising.
