Abstract :
The notion of benchmark (within the IT field) can be defined as being the result of running a computer program or a set of instructions/algorithms. This has as a goal to underline the performances of an object by running a set of standard tests upon it. Taking into consideration the development in the IT & C field and the variety of software, one may state that it is difficult to create a specific benchmark for a certain category. Thus, creating a benchmark for the performance evaluation remains a debatable subject.
