Abstract :
This paper proposes a C.A.D. based system to control a C.N.C. machine. An intelligent system integrated with C.A.D. software and C.N.C. technology, optimizes the machining cutting path by deciding the most effective solution. Features and geometric parameters are exported from C.A.D. part drawing and used to control the machine motion to cut the part. With the use of Genetic algorithms the cutting path will be optimized to the shortest time. The C.N.C. system is able to decide for the best solution between cutting trajectories, determined by the product´s C.A.D. model. The proposed system is developed under Visual C++ environment and includes several function. The efficiency of C.N.C. machining is improved and the cutting time is reduced.
