Abstract
A simulation technique for three phase brushless DC motors is described. The simulation method is especially suitable for low voltage DC drives where the motor and controller cannot be analysed or designed independently. A method of representing the action of the inverter using a system describing matrices is developed and demonstrated for one particular PIC. The steady state characteristics for the drive system are simulated and shown to be in good agreement with actual test results
