Abstract
The new type of electronic commutated (EC) drive is a modern high dynamic servo drive. The authors discuss their use in the vertical axis of a selective compliance arm robot. Using Schroder´s control method, extremely low pulsations of the torque occur and the power in the stator windings is minimized. It is found that the drive is ideal for robotic applications
