Abstract :
We propose a network video stream decoding and playing system based on a programmable graphics processor unit. To resolve the problem that processing of YUV image is hard and converting YUV to RGB is slow when playing and analyzing the H.264 video, the shader programming were used. The parallel processing speed of GPU is a million times as much of a CPU. With a GPU, YUV image could convert a RGB image in real-time, play the video of single/split screen and fulfill subsequent processing.
