Abstract :
A novel method for infrared and visible image fusion has been proposed. The method is based on hierarchy pre-treatment on the level images of the pyramid. The purpose of fusion is enriching the useful information contained in an image, especially visible and infrared image fusion in Complicated Sea and Airspace Background (CSAB). But it is not easy to obtain a good fusion effect and little calculations times simultaneously. When the fusion rule is simple, the time is less than the complex fusion scheme, but the effect is often less fine. The results of simulation on groups of images with HPIF (Hierarchical Pre-treatment Image Fusion) algorithm show that the fused image presents a more detailed scene.
