Title :
Evaluating the step response of traction VSI drive

Abstract :
The author shows that it is possible to predict the effect of the inverter input current transient by using a relatively simple analytical method which does not involve the time domain simulation of the drive system. The particular transient of interest is that due to the transition to the quasi-square wave mode. The analytical method described predicts the equivalent system eigenvalues bearing in mind that the system being considered is time varying. The effectiveness of this method has been demonstrated by comparing the calculated and computed (using time domain simulation) transient response parameters
