  • Abstract
The authors deal with the design and implementation of a 300 V DC motor drive. The main characteristic of the circuit is the utilization of an ST-HIMOS (IGBT) as power switch. A short explanation about the physics and the structure of this new development in a silicon power device is given. The circuit simplicity and compactness along with the fact that it can be powered directly by 220 V AC mains makes this application ideally suitable for domestic appliances
