  • Abstract
Aimed at the localization of the iris location algorithm, a new iris location algorithm is presented. First, the number of iris image gray scales that are less than a threshold value is counted at y-axis or x-axis. The pupil center, the length and short half axis are located with the most continuum connect section at quarter of the most value apiece. The facla and eyewinker infection could be located by this method. Using the pupil center locating parameters, the outer edge of the iris image is located with Max Grads Circle at 5 pels between the iris center and the pupil centers and θ∈(-45°, 45°) ∪ (135°, 225°). The eyelid and eyewinker disturbance could be avoided by this method. The result shows that this method can improves the speed of locating the iris edges and improves the real-time running speed.
