Abstract
The development of an interactive system tailored to support the activity of the geologist, who examines the gravimetric map of a region to draw information about the geological underground structures, is described. Access to the system is managed by an interface that creates a visual environment for the expert engaged in designing and testing procedures that automatically may execute the activity of interpreting gravimetric maps. The gravimetric map is a suitable representation of a digital image whose pixel values are related to gravimetric measures
