Abstract
This paper presents a novel design of speed control for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In the double loop of PMSM speed adjustment systems, the current loop adopts PI control and the speed controller adopts compound control strategy with particle swarm optimization (PSO). Simulation results show that the proposed controller is superior to the traditional PI controller. It has good dynamic and static characteristics, such as quick response and less steady-state error.
