  • Abstract
    This paper presents an off-line implementation of click modulation for portable audio amplifiers. This technique guarantees distortion-free baseband signals and due to its low switching rate reduces power consumption in Class-D amplifiers. Simple hardware implementation is possible and theoretically, exact signal recovery (demodulation) can be performed with a low-order low-pass filter. Hardware limitations, discrete time implementation issues and experimental results are discussed.
