Abstract :
A novel structure of a high sampling rate, high resolution ADC is described. In principle, it consists of a set of window amplifiers at uniformly spaced bias levels, each amplifying a portion of the actual input voltage range for subsequent conversion by a fast parallel ADC of corresponding resolution. A window amplifier can be realized by means of a differential amplifier with appropriate current feedback. To reduce the influence of the Miller capacity, a cascode differential amplifier is used in order to keep the ADCs input capacitance low
