Abstract
The aim of discrete optimisation examined in this paper is to minimize the number of nonzero bits in the CSD code representation of multiplier coefficients of wave digital filters. This paper presents a method to solve the optimisation task based on a combination of simulated annealing and a line search method. For conventional optimisation an improved line search method has been chosen which is rather efficient near to optima. The main contribution of the paper is that the combination of simulated annealing and a conventional optimisation method seems to be more efficient than simulated annealing alone
