In multiple areas of signal processing, one requires a description of the dynamic behaviour of systems. Using linear systems is a reflection of the up-to-date state of art of describing and analysing the real world rather than a reflection of a keen belief in this type of representation. Nevertheless, a preference for this type of model is observed, and attention is focused on linear systems of different types (continuous and discrete)
