Abstract :
Claw pole alternators are widely used as generators in passenger cars. They have to generate sufficient energy for all electric consumers and to keep the battery charge in balance. The present paper describes how modern design tools can be successfully applied to the optimisation of the electromagnetic design of claw pole alternators, in order to improve their output performance
