Abstract :
For the last few years, AI offers with cased-based reasoning (CBR) a powerful methodology, which has already proved its potentials in different industrial applications. However the related applications up to now are mainly focused on non real-time targets. In our work, a novel CBR based real time controller was proposed and named CBRTC (case-based real-time controller). CBRTC may be looked as a kind of direct expert controller, but it applies case-based rather than rule-based reasoning methodology to make control decisions. CBRTC has been put into operation for combustion control of hot blast stoves in some in-situ applications. It is shown with the applications that CBRTC may be a powerful tool for dealing with the control problems of complicated industrial processes
