Abstract
A numerical calculation method is proceeded to investigate the effect of overhead line tower geometric constructions to the lightning shielding failure. This numerical calculation is based on the Leader Development Model of lightening [1-8] and the charge distribution in the leader channel is set as literature [6]. In this paper, the height and the separation distance of the ground wire was changed to study the shielding effectiveness of different tower constructions. As the conclusion, an efficient layout scheme of ground wire and phase wire was proposed.
