Abstract
We present results of numerical simulation and experimental investigation of the launcher for the 1-MW 105-140 GHz step-tunable gyrotron for ASDEX-UP. Experiment shows low diffraction losses inside the tube and high TEM00 mode content in the output wavebeam for several modes.
