    The author looks at the development of BR overhead equipment for 25 kV AC electrification since its inception in 1956. The author describes the Mark IIIB overhead equipment used for electrification. The changes and improvements in design and installation methods which have taken place since 1972, with particular reference to the East Coast Main Line electrification, are presented
