New generation signalling control centre

Easter weekend 1989 saw the commissioning of British Rail´s first Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC). This event marked a major change in signalling technology where mimic diagrams were replaced by colour monitors and train routesetting and regulation is now an automatic function with manual intervention if required.
