The overhead system of the TGV-Atlantique

The authors briefly describe two accidents on the South-East TGV line, their common cause, and subsequent solutions to prevent further similar accidents. The experience gained was incorporated into the design of the overhead line of the TGV Atlantique. The authors discuss geometry of the overhead conductors and pantographs, and the civil engineering aspects of the new line
