Abstract :
Continuously variable crown (CVC) roll is an effective method for controlling the flatness and shape of strip in the modern manufacturing industry. The key issue in the development of the CVC roll is the design and intelligent grinding technology of the roll shape. In this paper, a new simple least square method is adapted to design the CVC roll shape curve. This method is propitious to minimize the axial force of CVC work roll and to improve accuracy of it than traditional method. In this study, intelligent expert system based on knowledge library is applied to intelligent CNC system (ICNCS) of roll grinder. The use of intelligent grinding technology is beneficial to improving the accuracy of CVC roll grinding
