Abstract :
Nano-scale lateral collection devices were fabricated using a-Si:H layer as the light absorber. The use of a nano-structured columnar electrode array was found to enhance power conversion efficiency by ~45%. These lateral collection devices provided higher Jsc with the use of thicker light absorber layers without the fill factor degradation suffered by planar controls.
