Abstract :
An overview is given of studies concerned with electrical concept optimization, packaging, and size reduction for transmit/receive modules for C-band counterbattery radars and X-band ground-based and airborne radars. All functions have been realized with monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) from the Thomson-CSF standard GaAs process. A ceramic package that complies with requirements for weight, cost, isolation, thermal resistivity, hermicity, and compaction of the interconnections has been designed. The reliability, power-added efficiency, and RF testing of the modules are discussed
