Abstract
Some design considerations related to wall losses and mode competition in an ITER relevant coaxial cavity gyrotron are presented. New possibilities of heat redistribution and of reduction of mode competition by means of an insert with variable depth of corrugations along the longitudinal direction of the cavity are discussed.
