Abstract
This method directly uses generator frequency domain data and treats all the auxiliary systems in terms of frequency transfer functions. It has the advantage of being computationally efficient and accurate. It is also capable of modelling very complicated systems without needing extra computing power. This method can be applied to the following areas: investigation of the effect of power system stabilizer and AVR parameters on the system transient stability; study of system stability as affected by machine loading conditions; examination of transmission line effect on machine transient responses; and research into generator performance as affected by its physical design
