Abstract :
The authors develop intelligent signature analysis software driven by the run-down and run-up signatures of various classes of rotating machine. The prototype class reported is a class of 660MW, 2-pole turbogenerator rotors passing through production company overspeed test pit-in various states of service history. Shaft absolute vibrations are recorded on several planes inboard and outboard of two bearings, and this study is focussed on four planes which would also be accessible on site for follow-up studies
