Abstract :
This paper discusses the applications and advantages of an electronic case history (ECH) in medical institutions. Special programs are created for electronic patient history in order to optimize the doctor´s job. This saves the doctor´s time as writing of case history and its clinical recording is a complex and important procedure. With the electronic case history, an increase of informative transparency which includes financial transparency, statistical transparency and medico-technical transparency is achieved. ECH applications also results in a decrease of man-hours for cost accounting. It is an important unit of medical workers´ automation-equipped working place AWP realized collection, storing and analyses of medical information that is used in the process of diagnostic and tactical decisions. The medical institution control system (CS) is more often based on ECH. The CS is program-technical and organizational-administrative information collection and processing system concerned with treatment process and designed for informational flows creation and management, for data collection, analyses and processing on the basis of computer medical records and case history. Hence, it is possible to note the progress in theoretical and methodological developmental work and also active electronic documentation application in present-day public health care system.
