HDTV-summary of operational and economic features with a view to international standardization

The author considers from a system viewpoint the link between production and distribution by taking into account the operational and technical aspects, and the economic aspects of HDTV. Indeed, no study of standardization based solely on the technical aspects is complete without reviewing the economical consequences of the various technical options taken.
