Abstract :
An accurate solution of a double step attenuation measurement technique with an internal gauge block for variable attenuators is presented. The solution is obtained by solving the signal flow graph of the circuit model with a small reflection coefficient (<;0.1) on each I/O port. Experimental results both of low and high attenuation values show good agreement with measurements of the conventional techniques.
