Abstract :
The hole-gap helical groove slow-wave structure, as an all-metal slow-wave circuit, has advantages of good heat dissipation and large size, and thus is suitable for use in a MM-wave TWT. By means of an approximate field theory, the expressions of the dispersion equation of the hole-gap helical groove slow-wave structure is obtained in this paper. The influence of various circuit dimensions on the dispersion relation is discussed by numerical computation.
