Abstract
Several techniques for measuring and monitoring the performance of DVTRs have already been developed and are being discussed with manufacturers. It is anticipated that diagnostic as well as routine monitoring equipment can be devised to automate the tests required and that circuits can be devised which are capable of being integrated into recorders to provide the user with detailed information on their performance, and the quality of the recording medium used
