Abstract :
Automation of video tape in the television service presentation system is now economically feasible using current technology. What is required is a system that feeds the daily program and commercial sequence with a minimum of human intervention, and that switches between the outputs of a set of dedicated transports to provide continuous material for each program service. The system must also afford sufficient storage to inhibit the required manual access to perhaps twice a day, but still permit last-minute changes. Development of such a system requires solving a series of and technical operational problems. This paper deals with the solution to some of those problems
