Abstract :
A new type of integrated optic polarization splitter operating at the wavelength of 0.63 μm has been proposed and demonstrated. The splitting device was fabricated by integrating a single mode silicon nitride input waveguide with a curved total reflecting grating consisting of small parts of ellipses. A preliminary measurement showed 11 dB extinction ratio for TE/TM-separation and 9 dB for TM/TE-separation
