Abstract
A three-phase transformer model for the calculation of electromagnetic transients for differential protection studies is presented. The ATP-EMTP was chosen as a computer tool for modeling the following situations: internal faults; transformer energization and removal of external faults. An application of the methodology is exemplified for a 138/13.8 kV-25 MVA transformer, where some transient results are presented
