Abstract :
The speeding up or slowing down of each new loaded roll in rolling mills are generally not controlled automatically. The operator manually speeds the mill up while keeping several factors such as motor current and load into account. This paper proposes the application of optimal control to the speeding up or slowing down of the mill so that the least strip has to be scrapped
