Abstract :
The authors have developed and characterised miniature packaged external cavity semiconductor lasers for use in coherent transmission systems at 1.5 μm, and they present detailed measurements of the lasing spectrum, side-mode suppression, output power, wavelength tuning and frequency stability as determined by CW heterodyne operation
