Monolithic integration of an ARROW-type (anti-resonant reflecting optical waveguide) demultiplexer and photodetector is proposed and demonstrated experimentally in the short wavelength region. This type of device can be applied to a comparatively wide band demultiplexer which separates 1.3 and 1.55 μm
