Abstract :
Construction of tunnels in urban area may influence the stability of existing pile foundations. In order to research behavior of two-pile foundation in a overpass project under the effect of adjacent tunneling, three dimensional numerical model is established. The settlement, inner force and deformation of piles during construction phases are studied. The result shows that the tunnel construction will bring some influence on the deformation and internal force of pile foundation. The settlement of ground soil is larger than that of pile, and the effect on the horizon deformation of pile is greater than on settlement. Negative skin friction will appear on certain range of pile but the influence is limited. In general, the stability of pile foundation will not decrease even during the shield tunneling phases.
