Abstract :
Optical microresonators made out of crystalline materials reveal a diversity of unique and useful properties applicable for novel devices. We discuss recent advances in the field pertaining to narrow line lasers, optical frequency comb generators, and all-optical clocks that ultimately can be integrated as a single chip.
