Abstract :
This paper presents an expert system model designed for wide geographic sparse scheduling applications. Fuzzy logic and knowledge based formalism are combined with classical solving tools (e.g. constraint analysis rules, date propagation and incremental search) in order to reduce the computational cost and enhance the efficiency of the solving procedure. This solving paradigm have been implemented and validated in a “fuzzy knowledge based system for offshore support vessel scheduling” for petroleum industry applications
