Abstract
Several multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques have been proposed for the MIMO-OFDM systems. However, user´s scheduling needs to be considered in wireless communication systems so as to increase system throughput. In this paper, we consider a cellular system employing MIMO-OFDM technique in which base station has multiple antennas and each user feeds back channel state information. For broadcast transmission, the base station performs joint scheduling and beamforming with the goal of maximizing the system throughput. We propose an approach for joint scheduling and beamforming which exploits orthogonality conditions of the scheduled users with reduced feedback. By simulation results, it is observed that our approach gives better outage throughput with lower complexity.
