Abstract :
British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL) is one of only two companies in the world that is able to offer nuclear fuel manufacture, enrichment, reprocessing and waste management services. BNFL has become involved in the development of expert systems for the monitoring of process plants at Sellafield, Springfields and Capenhurst. The author describes the development work which has been undertaken to date and the role of the installed systems
