In the paper the authors look at characteristic decomposition and multivariable generalised predictive control (GPC), singular value decomposition, and time domain computation of the principal direction sequences. All the results of the paper are brought together in the development of a suitable multivariable GPC algorithm which is tested by means of a suitable design study.
