Abstract :
The problem of multivariable control system design has been studied by many researchers. Feedback has been used in control system engineering as a means for satisfying design requirements such as system stabilization, reduction of system response to external disturbances, realization of specified transient response and/or frequency response characteristics, and improvement of a system´s robustness against variations in open loop dynamics. The controller for the linearized model of the Grumman aircraft F-14 due to R. Rimer and D.K. Frederick (1987), is redesigned using H∞ optimisation. The overall system robustness can be improved by changing weights
