Abstract :
The control of boilers in power stations contributes directly to the efficiency of generation, capability of the plant to respond to changing operating conditions, and plant life. The paper describes the application of generalized predictive control (GPC) to a nonlinear drum boiler-turbine system. The main controlled variables are drum steam pressure and output power, and the inputs are the fuel flow rate and the control valve position
