A major growth area in process control applications is that of `Speciality´ chemicals. The specific industrial sectors involved are pharmaceuticals, organic chemicals, agro-chemicals, and polymers, where an abundance of high value added products are being manufactured. These require complex and numerous process stages carried out in multi-purpose vessels on plant specifically designed for multi-product batch manufacture
